Have you had to move out of a rental home and away from your neighbourhood when you did not want to?
We are researchers at the University of Melbourne and Monash University studying what happens when private renters in Victoria have to move out of a home and away from their local area, and how they rebuild their lives afterwards.
You might have had to move because you could no longer afford the rent, the rent was raised, the landlord sold the property, or the property was damaged. If you recognise any of these situations, or if you have experienced a different kind of unwanted move, we would like to hear about your experience.
The survey takes about 10 minutes. Some questions ask about difficult experiences. You can skip any question you do not want to answer and you can stop at any time. Your answers are confidential.
At the end, we will ask if you would like to be contacted for an optional follow‑up interview. We are offering $75 as a thank you for taking part in a short conversational interview.
By clicking Take Survey, you confirm you are 18 or older, have rented from a private landlord or real estate agent at some point in the past 5 years in Victoria, and you have moved in the last 5 years when you did not really want to move.
